Proceeding with Your Family Law Matter
We provide all our new clients with a free 15 minute consultation, which gives us the opportunity to learn a little bit about you and your family law matter. If you decide to use our services after this phone call, we will likely recommend that you have an Initial Consultation (at a fixed fee) with one of our experienced divorce solicitors in our Brisbane or North Brisbane office.
However, we may assist you no matter where you may be located. We are happy to arrange for the consultation to be held over the phone, face time or by skype as suits you best.
Prior to the initial consultation, we will send you documents for you to complete, providing us with more information about you and your family law matter. Providing us with that information allows us to then focus on the legal issues and our advice to you during the actual meeting.
Your Initial Consultation is a longer consultation where we can provide more detailed advice than is possible during the initial free call. For an initial consultation, you will meet with an experienced divorce lawyer (also known as a family lawyer) who will listen to what concerns you have and what it is that you want to achieve. All information that you provide to us is treated in a confidential manner. At the meeting, our family lawyer will ask you questions, advise you regards the law, possible pitfalls that you may encounter and provide you with a case plan for how to finally resolve your family law issues.
What to Expect?
Following the initial consultation, we will provide you with written advice concerning our fees. In many cases, we are able to undertake work for you on a fixed fee basis.
